Make an offer. It should be 15% to 20% below the maximum amount
chunnu
you would pay so that there is room to bargain.

Unless this car is in like new condition I would say it is
Scrat
nowhere near the $9700 mark. It is probably worth around the $6,000 to

$7,000 mark.

You are the one that has to decide what you would be willing to pay for

it. There are other Impalas out there. Start off offering him a lower
amount & then work up until you reach ur set limit. Now you have to act
serious with each offer & remind him you have the cash right now. If he
has had it on the market for a bit the chances are more in ur favor than
if he has not.

I would suggest doing a little more research & making sure this is the one
you want!

A 4 door Impala with a small 283 is not worth anywhere close to $9700

unless it is in absolutely perfect condition. It will never be as

collectible as a 2 door or a convertible.

Check out this one for only $5800

I'd say $500 less would be the most you might be able to go
B &;* C
without insulting them. If they doesn't take it then you can offer more &

hardtops have gotten so expensive. Right now they are in a funny
stage.sometimes you can find them really cheap & other times they sell for
a decent amount. If there is no evidence of rust & it is really in
excellent shape the price is probably lower than what it would cost to
take it to a shop to have it restored. If you can do the work yourself
then you could get it done cheaper.

Four doors are a lot cheaper in some parts of the country because there
isn't a much rust. Here in Kansas anything that old & in excellent
condition (no rust) is worth a lot more. Have you priced a paint job
lately!

If someone offered me $2,000 less I'd laugh & walk away.and probably not
budge on the price at all.

another offer.

And just negoiate from there. You should be able to get a good deal for
it if you stay in the game.
